The McMansion Show
What
is excess? Is it only relative? Is there a morality or
ethic to land use? What is the impact on the environment
and wildlife? At what point is a house too large? Who
is to say what is too large? Seven artists express their
opinions and feelings on these timely subjects through
painting, mixed media, drawing, photography and other
artistic devices.
The
NAG is currently comprised of 7 professional artists covering
various visual arts disciplines. The
current members of the New Art Group are:
- Susan
Ahlstrom – three dimensional mixed media work
(Stirling)
- Fran
Azzara – painting and encaustic work (Westfield)
- Jim
Fuess – abstract painting, mixed media work (Berkeley
Heights)
- Mindy
Lighthipe – botanical illustration (Warren)
- Thom
Lynch – surrealistic tableau (Pottersville)
- Nancy
Ori – photography, mixed media work (Berkeley
Heights)
- Paul

The
New Art Group has been in existence for 14 years and has
had 36 art shows. One of the ideas that hold the group
together is that each show is themed and has a central
idea or focus. This brings seven different views to each
show rather than just a random collection of art. If you
would like to bring the McMansion Art Show to your venue
or any other show please contact Jim Fuess at jimfuess@comcast.net.
